Two-Day Practical Workshop on Conveyancing Practice
Organised by the Corporate & Conveyancing Practice Committee, this workshop was presented by R Yogeswari, Dennis Teoh, Nahzatul Ain bt Mohd Khalid, Sarah binti Kambali, Daphne Lew Chah Yee, Ow Hui Ching and Donny Kwa on 1 & 2 March 2017 at the KL Bar Auditorium from 9:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The workshop was attended by 50 participants. The seminar covered, amongst others, “Crafting the final SPA”; “Conditions, Precedents and Subsequent”; “Chaos, Claims and Billing”; “Conflict of Interest”; “Conveyancing Process A-Z”; “Private Caveats”; “Co-operation from the Support Staff”; “Client Management”; “Client’s Interest”; “Options to Purchase”; “Completion Delays”; “AMLATFPUA (Act 613)”; :Land Acquisition”; and “RPGT (Act 169).

Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Wong Tat Chung on 3 March 2017 at the KL Bar Auditorium from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 141 participants. The seminar covered the Companies Act 2016: The after effects and the relevant subsidiary legislation.

Seminar on Profits from Disposal of Real Property: Capital Gains or Business Income?
Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Lim Kien Chai on 7 March 2017 at the KL Bar Auditorium from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 30 participants. The primary objective of the seminar was to assist in determining whether a disposal of property is governed under RPGT Act 1976 or ITA 1967.

Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Sudharsanan Thillainathan, Winnie Chan Yin Nie and Mohd Imran Adnan on 31 March 2017 at the KL Bar Auditorium from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 39 participants. The seminar focused on the theme of competition law enforcement and examined key topics in the field of competition law from a national and regional perspective.
